Kimono de jack events

so it has been a while since i posted anything in here >u< i was quite busy with kimono the jacks what was really awsome =D! i'll share some photos of them >u< in order of happenings =D be aware though! there is allot to talk about and allot of pictures >u<! But please enjoy =D!

cherry blossom festival in amstelveen:

it was allot of fun but sadly the blossoms didn't bloom yet ;u; though the sun was overflowing that day which made a nice day for picknics =) This year again the festival was kept sober, and they placed a monument for the tsunami disaster from last year. It was lovely to see it ^^ also a thing i didn't like was that we were an attraction for photographers haha x'D we did get 2 publications in newspapers though >u< that was really an honor =D! also there were some stupid ladies telling us to keep away from officials. since we could 'offend' the japanese guests. But from what i know they love it if others wear kimono, and i was right ^^ we did keep away from officials unless they approached us on their own.

lovely happy group photo!! i loved this one allot =D! this one was made when we were doing our famous tabi shot >u<
the shinto priest approached me on his own and told me i looked pretty <3 he was trying to tell me what he was wearing too >u< a little bit after that i asked him if we could take a picture together and he agreed >u<! he was such a cheerfull man!
here you can see my hairdo really well <3
and another LOVELY sleeve group photo <3 i absolutely love love love this picture >u<! so dreamy =D!

this is the monument i was talking about earlier. I really loved how it looked with all the cranes and lotus origami >u<

cherry blossom festival hasselt:
this festival was much more cheerfull! they did say a little about the tsunami at the opening of the tori, but aside from that we didn't hear anything of it anymore. Also they built a little shinto shrine in the garden to pray for the japanese people. But this festival had the things that the amstelveen festifal didn't have anymore since the tsunami: a festive mood. There was a shakuhachi player (flute) and an awsome taiko performance >u<! This japanese garden seems to be the biggest in europe and it was indeed huge! And lovely too. Though carolien said it would probably be prettier around may and june and i agree. Then all the leaf less trees and flowers will be in full bloom =)
anyway on to the photo's! I actually don't like the photo's much on this event from myself. I look way to serious on the photo's xD! but i have a few were i do look okay on, so i will show those. And also i didn't like my outfit as much as the rest of us were dressed so subtile ;u;

carolien with the just opened tori

and the officials opening the tori ^

a decent photo where you can see my self made obi really well ^^
i also used a glittered bead as obidome ^^ I chose this colourfull outfit because i wanted to celebrate spring ^^ though this outfit was WAY to cold with that cold wind and low temperature
i used 2 kimono here: an hitoe synthethic white kimono and over that a black ro kimono. I thought it would be warm enough but i was absolutely mistaking x'D

< the little shinto shrine and the koi lake ^

^ a group photo of us all <3 the only one so far i know where i smile!
<A BON ODORI!! i always wanted to do one >u<! and was happy there was one i could join in with >u<

and a photo i requested from walter ^^ a picture of my whole outfit without the poncho <3 (liked this much more but was to cold to walk around like this) This is actually my favorite photo of this event ^^

Shokugan Teahouse opening:
this event was yesterday! We all decided to wear iromuji today so it was allot of fun to see the same kind of kimono back on the photo's <3 anyway this event was fun because of the many workshops and demonstrations =D though after this event i was dead tired haha =D! I love how most of the photo's turned out on this event unlike the last one >u< I also have cut banks after a long time, which you can see back in the photo's >u<

group picture in the machiya: a waiting house for the guests in teaceremony =) I really like how this picture turned out, and also i look elegant for once in my pose ^^
a photo with the sushi chef from japan ^^ he said that it was a dream come true to see so many girls in kimono at once >u<! so he HAD to have a group photo with us =D he was a funny guy >u< bowing deeply for us while giving his buisness card, and even giving us sweets as a thanks ^^!
tabi shot of us all >u< i wore my geta in a long while since last time i wore them my feet died. So i was scared it would happen again =) but gladly i could walk around on them all day without worries/pains. I figured as long i don't walk to fast on them i am able to walk on them for longer periods just fine ^^b
^ obi detail shot. I really like this shot since it is the
only shot that really shows my obidome well ^^
< paparazzi shot by linda. I really like this photo so i included it

a group shot again ^^ i really love the colours we were wearing together like this >u<!! and i loved the colour combination on tulay her outfit (girl to the most left)
me blowing on the shakuhachi. It was really hard to get a sound out of the flute but it was a really pretty sound <3

i actually really liked this photo because you can see my hairdo really well >u<!

and the kyudo workshop/demonstration. This was really cool to watch!! I have been wanting to see this in real life since i got interested in manga! and that was around the age of 15/16! I always read about this sports in manga and it always looked so elegant and it really is <3 also in real life! The movements are really hard though! It is really intense even though it looks really 'easy'

so this was it for the events! i will dedicate my next entry to the man kitsuke i did, with girly items, and will also show my self made reversible tsuke obi i have finished not to long ago >u<!

till next time everyone and i hope it was interesting to read =)!

tryout 'fake' shigoki obi

hello everyone =)
yesterday I was doing some sloppy kitsuke again, just because i felt like trying my easy collar and some other stuff ^^

the outcome was something interesting =D! i always wanted to try shigoki obi for to short kimono. Though the problem is I don't have one, and all the ones i've seen on internet are always red. And also a problem is my big hips haha =) so I thought what would be the result if i tie two obiage together? so i tried it out and it gave a perfect length! so i made a picture of my tryout >u<! I think it looks really awsome if i may say so myself =P!! and why i never thought of this before is a riddle to me haha >u<!! I also tied the obi in a cross, like they did in taisho period ^^

i also made tabi this week >u<!! i got this fabric with a trade on the immortal geisha forums <3 and since then i wanted to make tabi out of them <3 i made one with the mashine before but i screwed up badly D=.... So this time around i tried hand stitching. I found out that i am much more in control when hand stitching so for tabi that works much better >u<! this picture is the resul of my hand stitched tabi =D! it is much more work though haha >u<'' though next time i need to make the pattern a bit bigger, since these are a bit small. Thankfully i used stretching fabric for the lining and sole.  I can't wait to wear them with an ensemble >u<!!

reaaally late sejin shiki photoshoot!

So today I met with Charrissa again and we did a long wanted photoshoot in our beloved furisodes! I had been pondering about which kimono to wear: my green or my white with blue flowers furisode? i went with the last eventually >u<! And I also decided this will be my sakura matsuri outfit ^^b!! With my birthday I had put on this furisode and didn't really like how the combo looked on me. So this time I changed the whole outfit in something more modern =D! This time I went with my odori obi. I found it a bit 'to much' so to say, so I remembered my, and Charissa's outing to Amsterdam a while back. Charissa used a lace 'cover' over her obi =D so that is what I did too this time around with a nice see through black shawl >u<! It really is becoming one of my favorite 'kimono' items... ofcource it is really just a shawl but i use it in so many ways!! I never would have realised i´d use this item so much in kimono ^^ I still remember thinking "when can i finally use it with kimono ;A;" but now i can't ever miss it again >u<! ANYWAY back to the topic. Then i paired my turquoise blue assesoiries with it, with as result using blue and black han/date eri =B  Charissa's outfit is her gorgeous green furisode, which she paired with her DIFFICULT TO TIE maru obi x'D! seriously that thing is horrible >: but it looks so pretty ;u; We went downstairs when finally done and my mom made a few pics before we headed out to make a few pictures in the parc. But it was a bit to cold still so we went back to my house really quickly ;u;anyways on to the pics... i ramble way to much sorry for that =P!

my first entry~!

my first entry =D i am still getting the hang of things now but it seems like fun to have a blog =P I also jumped on the bandwagon. Anyways I always spam everyone on facebook with my kitsuke that isn't fit for the IG forums imo... and mayby not everyone is interested in that on FB ^^;; now this will be my dump place for sloppy but also pretty kitsuke ^^ and ofcource some tryouts i do from time to time =D I will post my own creations as well, so please look forward to it all >u<!

now some pictures i didn't share on Immortal geisha before (in no particular order)

my so called valentines kitsuke x'D it is soooo late and sloppy at that. It's sloppy because i didn't use a juban, since in truth this is
just some try out x'D i wanted to see if the kimono fit me length whise =D and luckily it does. Not as low as it should be but still acceptable =D!

here i tried out my kimono poncho that i purchased from one of my
dear friends Jukiko. She made this by hand and  it just looks lovely <3
and it is so soft ;A;! I also put it on a normal jeans <3 it looks good on that too but it should be a different coloured jeans the next time ^^''

back then, this was my original plan to wear to the Kimono de Jack anniversary in the UK. I changed this whool kimono into a silk/rayon iromuji  since i thought it was more appropriate for the occasion. We went to a small tea ceremony so i changed the kimono, and eventually also my obi for my silver fukuro obi ^^ actually... my whole outfit was changed ^^;; the only thing i kept were the assesoiries (bag, flower in my hair, and obiage/jime set) even the shoes i changed to zori (since the day before i hurt them allot with those same shoes... didn't feel like hurting it even more)
i don't own this furisode anymore and this is my only photo of me wearing it. Now a friend of mine bought it from me so i will probably see it again sometime ^^ I wore this set with a dutch festivity called sinterklaas. It is quite close to the santa claus with christmas =D

this is a kimono i got as a present in the christmas swap in 2010/2011. I really wish it looked good on me but it makes me look SO old it isn't even funny. And i haven't found anything yet to youthenize it >: Though the kimono is perfect fit, so i'll take it apart and use it as a pattern for upcoming kimono projects =D!

anyways i think for a first entry this should be enough =D I will keep you updated with my photo's and outings >u<! i will probably put some photo's of possible ensembles for the sakura event end march =D and also a few obi idea's i am working on >u< so please check it out soon again =D!
